"The Canberra Walking Festival" is the Australian IML march held in and around the city of Canberra.

Canberra, the capital of Australia, is primarily made up of ministries and central administration for the country, lacking much industrial or private sector presence, which can make the city seem somewhat dull.

The Canberra Walking Festival consists of the IML part, which is a two-day march, along with two other march days that are IVV walks.

Participants usually have the opportunity to spot a variety of exciting birds, giant spiders, and kangaroos along the routes that pass through various beautiful park areas in the city and surrounding forests and hills.

The march takes place in early April, which is late summer in Australia, resulting in very hot weather by Danish standards. In 2018, temperatures reached over 30 degrees Celsius with clear skies most of the time.

Particularly on the first day, there are significant portions of the route where cyclists show little consideration for pedestrians, leading to some interesting situations!

Each day, there are separate rest stops/checkpoints along the routes where participants can get water and fruit juice, but unfortunately, no other food options are available.

The march is very well-organized, and the locals are welcoming and friendly in the typical Australian manner.

I would definitely recommend participating in this march, as it offers a unique experience in a climate and area that are very different from Denmark.
