”Hrvatski Festivala Hodanja” or ”Croatian Walking Festival” has been the official IML march in Croatia starting from 2022. This much-anticipated event takes place in the charming towns of Otočac and Gospić, approximately 200 km away from the bustling capital city of Zagreb. Despite being around 50 kilometers apart, these towns offer a unique walking experience nestled between picturesque mountain ranges.

The walking route on the first day winds along a serene river surrounding Otočac, while the second day's path meanders around the scenic town of Gospić. Participants, however, faced some challenges regarding inaccurate kilometer markings, leading to longer-than-expected routes - turning 2 x 20 km into 24 & 27 km, a discrepancy that marred the otherwise well-organized international IML walking event.

One of the standout aspects of this festival is the warm hospitality extended by the local inhabitants, adding a genuine touch to the overall experience. Furthermore, Croatia's reasonable price levels enhance the appeal of participating in the march, making it an accessible and enjoyable adventure for walking enthusiasts of all ages.

Participants can strive for various achievements, with medals awarded based on the number of "Hrvatski Festivala Hodanja" events completed:
