九州国際スリーデーマーチ or Kyushu International Three Day March is one of the two IML marches held in Japan.

The march spans three days and takes place in Yatsushiro, located about 1,300 km west of Tokyo.

Yatsushiro (八代市) is the second largest city in Kumamoto Prefecture on the island of Kyushu in Japan. The city is known for its rich history, industry, and unique agricultural products. Throughout the event, participants can enjoy samples of the famous winter tomatoes at rest stops. In some areas, one might even spot the giant Banpeiyu (pomelo fruits), among the largest citrus fruits in the world.

Large parts of the routes each day pass through the city and along the Mae River. Participants also venture towards the outskirts of the mountains that cover much of the Kyushu island.

In the flat terrain between the mountains and the city, walkers traverse several rice fields intersected by a bullet train line of Shinkansen (high-speed train).

The local residents are incredibly friendly and interested in the visiting hikers, making the entire march a positive experience worth recommending!
