The "Saga Marchen" is Norway's IML march.

The march takes place in the area around Verdal, located about 600 km north of Oslo.

Verdal is a relatively small town where not much seems to happen, so the annual march is a big event...

In 2013, the Saga March celebrated its 50th anniversary.

The march features two very different routes. On the first day, participants are bussed up into the mountains, crossing several kilometers into Sweden where the starting point is located. The route takes them through an incredibly beautiful mountain landscape back to Norway, ending the day's stage in the small town of Sul. From Sul, there is a bus transport back to Verdal, a short half-hour drive.

On the second day, the starting point is Stiklestad, about 3 km from Verdal, and the route forms a loop around the town. It follows the Trondheim Fjord part of the way and also tracks along a river inland for several kilometers.

A very scenic journey with two very distinct and well-planned routes. However, the price level, like everything else in Norway, is very high.
