This Sports badge is an official German decoration that is included in the Danish Royal Court & State Calendar.
The Danish Defence Command normally grants (after application through the chain of command) permission to wear this badge!
The badge can be worn either as a ribbon for uniform, mini medal for Gala uniform or as a metal badge in large / small version.

The badge is divided into three classes (Bronze, Silver, Gold) which are awarded according to how many times the tests have been completed – as follows: 1 year Bronze, 3 years Silver and 5 years Gold.,
In 2006, the "Deutscher Sportbund (DSB)" changed its name to "Deutscher Olympic Sportsbund (DOSB)".
At the same time, the design of the badges and some of the rules for awarding were changed.
Unfortunately, it seems that the fabric badges have been discontinued.

Gold badge for Lifesaving from DLRG.
This badge is awarded after a very comprehensive test in both theoretical and practical aspects of lifesaving work.
The swimming part of the test is at least on par with the Danish military proficiency badge in Combat Swimming!
This badge is an official German award and may be worn on uniform upon application.
The badge can be worn as a large metal badge, ribbon of the order, small metal badge for a civilian jacket or as a miniature medal for a Gala uniform
Here are the requirements for the Gold badge test:
Preconditions:
•Minimum age 16 years
•Silver lifeguard badge must be present
•Medical fitness certificate in accordance with DLRG form (Order No. 15401353)
Practical exam:
•300 m fin swimming in a maximum of 6 minutes, of which 250 m prone or side position and 50 m dragging, partner in clothing (head and armpit grip)
•300 m swim in clothes in no more than 9 minutes, then undress in the water
•100 m swim in a maximum of 1:40 minutes
•30 m distance diving, collecting at least 8 pieces from 10 small rings or plates distributed over a distance of 20 m in an alley no more than 2 m wide
•three deep dips in clothing in a maximum of 3 minutes; the first time with a head dive, then once headward and once downwards from the water surface with simultaneous retrieval of two 5 kg diving rings or similar objects that are about 3 m apart (water depth between 3 and 5 m)
•50 m transport swim, both partners in clothing: pushing or pulling in a maximum of 1:30 minutes
•Skills to avoid clutches and to free yourself from neck clasp from behind and neck choke grip from behind
•Combined exercise (both partners in clothing) to be performed without a break in the order indicated:
25 m swim in 30 seconds or less
Dive to a depth of 3-5 m and retrieve a 5 kg diving ring or a similar object, then drop it
Release from the clutch by means of a release grip
25 m towing in a maximum of 60 seconds with a tethered tow handle
Bringing the rescued person ashore

Handling of the following rescue equipment:
1.Rescue with a lifeline ball: Target throwing into a sector with a 3 m opening at a distance of 12 m: 6 throws within 5 minutes, four of which are hits
2.Rescue with lifebelt leash (as float and line handler)
Handling common resuscitation tools
Theoretical exam:
•Resuscitation methods.
•Avoidance of clasps.
•First aid.
•The DLRG: Organisation, tasks with special consideration of the water rescue service.
