The NROF march

The NROF march – virtually

The NROF march was instituted in 2021, and is an event that can be carried out in two different ways.

  1. The march can be carried out as an individual virtual march during June administered by the NROF secretariat.
  2. The march can be carried out as a march over a minimum of two consecutive days arranged by one of NROF's branches. The purpose of the NROF march is to stimulate interest in marching among NROF's members, and other interested parties.

Implementation of virtual march:

Time
Virtual NROF march is carried out individually during the month of June, and is registered digitally.

Place:
The march is carried out locally.

Lengths

It is possible to participate in two classes:

  1. 60 km
  2. 100 km

There is no requirement that the march must be completed on the following days, but in both classes it is a requirement that at least one of the stages must be at least 20 km and none of the stages must be less than 10 km. There are no requirements for the course beyond distance.

Outfits

The march is carried out in civilian leisure attire.

Registration

After completing the march, registration is sentby e-mailnumber containing: Name, mobile phone, e-mail and what distance has been completed. (60 km or 100 km).

Participation is basically free and free for everyone to attend. Participants who want proof of completed march can buy an NROF march medal. The following year, it will be possible to buy an additional badge that is attached to the medal ribbon. The additional badge is designed in the same denomination as the medal, with a red background enamel and with numbers showing the number of transits. You state your wish for a marching medal in the e-mail where you register the completed march.

Results

After registration has been received from the individual participant, this will be registered and listed individually on the overview. After the march, a simple alphabetical list of those who have completed in the various classes will be posted on NROF's website.

There is basically no requirement for GPS registration or similar, but NROF appreciates that those who have the opportunity to register the course/distance send in a screenshot of this, preferably together with a photo from the activity.

Implementation of marching events under the auspices of NROF's branches:

Lengths

The march is carried out over a minimum of two consecutive days, one of which is combined with the military march badge for those who wish and the applicable requirements are met.

On the second day/other days, the units are free to decide the length of the march, but it should be a minimum of 10 km.

Outfits

The march can be carried out in civilian leisure attire or in military uniform. If military attire is chosen, this must be regulated throughout the march.

Equipment

If the march is carried out as the Military March Badge, the Armed Forces' regulations for attire, equipment and implementation must be followed.

Trail

The trail will be laid on good paths and roads, preferably gravel roads. There should be a mileage indication for at least every 5 km. Hydration posts/food stations, control posts and first aid stations are set out where deemed necessary.

Registration

After completing the march, the organizer sends results containing: Name, Mobiltlf.nr, e-mail address tonrof.
